Da Salon is seeking scintillating readers: open to all humans, regardless of previous experience. However, we expect you have some writing chops and what you’ve written could strike a chord with an audience.
We look for new(ish) & unproven work that would benefit from being read aloud.
Each reader gets 10 minutes, including self-introduction, context for the piece or prologue. 10 MINUTES PEOPLE!

You like us? You reeeeaalllly like us? Like, enough to host us at your “venue” (or, ahem, home).
Here’s the DL:
We typically have about 30-40 audience members - but please let us know your max # bodies .You will be responsible for providing a space to play: “stage”, audience seating area, bathrooms. Ideally you provide chairs or seating.
Providing Food/drinks is optional (this is considered “sponsoring” and sooo appreciate but not required to host!) Having water available is preferred. Up to you if you want to allow outside food/drinks.
If you’d like, we can promote your name or business at the event (we usually write a jingle!) We would hope you would share with anyone who you think would enjoy this event, too.

We don’t currently have “official volunteers” (see those air quotes - so un-official!) but, baby, you better believe we’d love the help. Give us your info and we’ll reach out if we need help with something! Help usually looks like: setting up and taking down chairs, setting up the mic & stands, greeting people at the event, kissing babies & taking names – we mean, taking tickets.

You want to (squeal!) give us money?! We love money. Well, Alia’s a bit squeamish, but Shannon will take it right off your hands.
No but seriously: being a sponsor means providing food (light fare like charcuterie, tapas or sweets) and/or drink, atmosphere (decorations? music?) or a monetary donation to help us keep going.
If you want to lend generous support (thank you!)
Or if you want to skip all the fanfare and really just want to give us money, you can donate as well.
